USA – Surfing and Sight Seeing

I arrived in LA last Thursday but had bad Wi-fi most of the time so that this is the first post after a while. After Heike picked me up at the airport (finally :-)) we had two days together in LA spending on sight seeing and then moved on to the South. Our first stop was Laguna Beach.
In Laguna we had an amazing hotel with walking distance to the beach. On the way down we stopped in Manhattan Beach and Newport Beach. Manhattan Beach was so nice that we decided to spend our last nights before our flight back home there.

In Laguna Beach we spend the days walking around at the beaches and the small town. There I had my first surf in freezing water (compared to Hawaii) at Brooks St. The surf was ok and good enough for the first time in the water after 6 days without surfing ;-). After surfing we headed further down towards San Diego where we had our hotel in La Jolla. On our way down we stopped in San Clemente where I went surfing again at the pier. Surfing in San Clemente was good. The spot was wide enough to handle all the people and the waves were glassy and a good size.

In La Jolla we walked along the beach towards the sea lions and the seals and drove towards the San Diego Harbour along the coast. The western coast south in very nice and definitely worth to see!

Now we are heading off towards the Joshua Tree National Park.
