Hawai’i – The Big Island

Yesterday I left O’ahu and flew to the Big Island (Hawai’i). I will stay here for 6 days. 2 nights at the West Coast in Kailua-Kona and 3 nights at the East Coast in Hilo.
After my arrival yesterday I drove south of the Island to see what the island looks like and what to find there. The answer was pretty easy: Nothing 😉 The South-Western part has just a few residential areas and mostly a rocky coastline. But that looks amazing.
Today I drove all the way up to the North to the Pololu Trail. The climate and the landscape changed but once you left Kailua-Kona there just came up a few smaller towns.
In this area you have some beautiful beaches such as Hapuna Beach. You also can surf at the West Coast at Banyans or Pine Trees. I will try out Pine Trees tomorrow before I head to the East Coast 😉
At the East Coast I will try to explore the Waipi’o Valley and the Volcanos.
